The seismic sequence culminated with a magnitude 6.4 earthquake centered beneath Guayanilla Canyon on January 7, 2020 and caused shoreline subsidence, rockfalls, and considerable damage to buildings. The survey was conducted during March 7\u201313 out of the UPRM Isla Magueyes Laboratories aboard the research vessel Sultana. Approximately 226 line kilometers of multichannel seismic reflection data were collected across the insular shelf and upper slope of the Caribbean Sea between La Parguera and Guayanilla Bay and offshore in the vicinity of Guayanilla Canyon. The seismic profiles image up to 0.5 seconds (approximately 0.5 kilometers) of the sedimentary section beneath the sea floor and provide evidence of faults and mass wasting.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P96GY6TQ", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.60a2d193d34ea221ce432fe5.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_60a2d193d34ea221ce432fe5", "keyword": ["navigation", "image", "Department of the Interior", "University of Puerto Rico Mayag\u00fcez - Department of Marine Science", "USGS:60a2d193d34ea221ce432fe5", "Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center", "Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program", "location", "United States of America", "navigational data", "R/V Sultana", "Caribbean Sea", "Isla Magueyes", "field activity number 2020-014-FA", "DOI", "sub-bottom profiling", "Isla Magueyes Laboratories", "common midpoint stack", "U.S. Geological Survey", "WHCMSC", "UPRM", "Geometrics", "seismic navigation", "trackline navigation", "La Parguera", "USGS", "CMHRP", "Guayanilla Canyon", "marine geophysics", "GeoEel", "Guayanilla Bay", "sea floor", "multi-channel streamer", "SEG-Y traces", "shapefile", "seismic reflection methods", "Guanica Bay", "oceans", "SIG ELC1200 sparker", "geoscientificInformation", "marine geology", "seafloor", "Applied Acoustics Delta sparker", "seismic reflection", "PNG"], "modified": "2021-07-13T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-67.036516, 17.778188, -66.581641, 17.994033", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Multichannel seismic-reflection and navigation data collected using SIG ELC1200 and Applied Acoustics Delta sparkers and Geometrics GeoEel digital streamers during USGS field activity 2020-014-FA, Southwest of Puerto Rico, March 2020"}
