U.S. Geological Survey field efforts are part of an interagency agreement with the National Park Service to monitor the recovery of the island from Hurricanes Florence (2018) and Dorian (2019). Three sites of outwash, overwash, and pond formation were targeted for extensive vegetation ground-truthing, sediment samples, bathymetric mapping with a remote-controlled surface vehicle, and uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) flights to collect multispectral imagery. Five semi-permanent ground control points were also installed and surveyed to act as control for additional aerial imagery collected via plane. UAS imagery were processed in Agisoft Metashape (v. 1.8.1) with surveyed temporary ground control points to produce calibrated multispectral (red, blue, green, red edge, near infrared, and panchromatic) orthoimages and digital surface models.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.63ae0f3fd34e92aad3ca5bcd.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P99IV3FC", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_63ae0f3fd34e92aad3ca5bcd", "keyword": ["Hurricane Dorian", "Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center", "Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program", "topographic mapping", "Hurricane Florence", "U.S. Geological Survey", "WHCMSC", "State of North Carolina", "elevation", "USGS", "CMHRP", "remote sensing", "Cape Lookout", "National Seashore", "North Core Banks", "USGS:63ae0f3fd34e92aad3ca5bcd", "digital surface model", "Atlantic Ocean", "geoscientificInformation", "structure from motion", "datasets", "Physical Habitats and Geomorphology", "Remote Sensing Coastal Change", "Agisoft Metashape", "digital elevation models"], "modified": "2023-03-28T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-76.27257445, 34.88789705, -76.22241438, 34.92739173", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "High resolution structure from motion digital surface models representing three sites on North Core Banks, NC in October 2022"}
