The maps were produced by the Joint Probability Method with Optimal Spacing (JPM-OS) statistical procedure using the model data produced by a coupled CH3D/SWAN storm surge modeling system. The maps correspond to a 1% annual probability of exceedance (100-year return period). Sea level rise (SLR) conditions are based on NOAA predictions for Naples, FL. The SLR for 2020 is set to be at 0.32 ft. All SLR values are relative to the year 2000. Scenarios: 2030 Low (0.39 ft SLR), 2030 Medium (0.72 ft SLR), 2030 High (1.15 ft SLR); 2060 Low (0.82 ft SLR), 2060 Medium (1.77 ft SLR), 2060 High (3.38 ft SLR); 2100 Low (1.28 ft SLR), 2100 Medium (3.77 ft SLR), 2100 High (8.36 ft SLR). Southwest Florida contains the largest area of tidally influenced public lands in the Gulf of Mexico and the fastest growing urban landscape in Florida. Both the human and natural components of the ecosystem are under increasing risk due to the threats of a growing human population, sea level rise, and tropical cyclones. The project “A Web-based Interactive Decision-Support Tool for Adaptation of Coastal Urban and Natural Ecosystems (ACUNE) in Southwest Florida” will create inundation, salinity distribution, habitat distribution maps, beach and barrier islands vulnerability, and economic impacts maps for various climate and sea level rise scenarios and will integrate the maps into a web-based interactive decision-support tool that enables users to identify areas of high vulnerability. This data provides the main project outputs – probabilistic 1% annual probability of exceedance flood maps for the Collier County due to storm surge, tides and waves.
