Most of the wells were drilled for oil and gas exploration and, in a few cases, production.\n\nThis ESRI point shapefile utilizes data from 95 wells in and around the Penrose area provided by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) database at   http://cogcc.state.co.us/ . Temperature data from the database were used to calculate a temperature gradient for each well. This information was then used to estimate temperatures at various depths.\n\nProjection: UTM Zone 13 NAD27\n \nExtent:\nWest  -105.224871    \tEast  -105.027633 \nNorth  38.486269    \tSouth  38.259507 \n\nOriginators:\nColorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC)\nKaren Christopherson\n", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://gdr.openei.org/files/343/PenroseWellTemps.shp.zip", "description": "Shapefile containing temperature gradient for each well.", "format": "zip", "mediaType": "application/zip", "title": "Penrose Well Temps.zip"}], "identifier": "https://data.openei.org/submissions/6681", "issued": "2013-03-15T06:00:00Z", "keyword": ["geothermal", "Colorado", "Fremont County", "Temperature gradients", "Oil and Gas wells", "Temperature Gradient", "point shapefile", "shapefile", "shape file", "well data", "temperature", "penrose well", "data", "geospatial data"], "landingPage": "https://gdr.openei.org/submissions/343", "license": "https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/", "modified": "2021-08-24T21:36:02Z", "programCode": ["019:006"], "projectLead": "Mark Ziegenbein", "projectNumber": "EE0002828", "projectTitle": "Recovery Act: Use Remote Sensing Data (selected visible and infrared spectrums) to locate high temp ground anomalies in Colorado.Confirm heat flow potential w/ on-site temp surveys to drill deep resource wells", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "Flint Geothermal, LLC"}, "spatial": "{\"type\":\"Polygon\",\"coordinates\":[[[-105.224871,38.259507],[-105.027633,38.259507],[-105.027633,38.486269],[-105.224871,38.486269],[-105.224871,38.259507]]]}", "title": "Penrose Well Temperatures"}
