Approximately 130 linear kilometers of subbottom (seismic-reflection) and 234-kilohertz interferometric sonar (bathymetric and backscatter) data were collected along with sediment samples, sea floor photographs, and (or) video at 26 sites within the geophysical survey area. Sediment grab samples were collected at 19 of the 26 sampling sites and video and (or) photographic imagery of the sea floor were taken at all 26 sites. These survey data are used to characterize the sea floor by identifying sediment-texture, seabed morphology, and underlying geologic structure and stratigraphy.  Data collected during these 2016 surveys are included in this data release: https://doi.org/10.5066/P9HZHXXV.\n      More information can be found on the websites for the Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center field activities at https://cmgds.marine.usgs.gov/fan_info.php?fan=2016-017-FA and https://cmgds.marine.usgs.gov/fan_info.php?fan=2016-037-FA.\n      ", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9HZHXXV", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.5c926dbbe4b0938824573d52.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_5c926dbbe4b0938824573d52", "keyword": ["field activity 2016-017-FA", "United States", "Gulf of Maine", "Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center", "Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program", "location", "seismic methods", "navigational data", "R/V Rafael", "Knudsen 3202", "North America", "USGS:5c926dbbe4b0938824573d52", "sub-bottom profiling", "U.S. Geological Survey", "WHCMSC", "Massachusetts", "seismic navigation", "Sandwich", "Sea floor", "USGS", "Cape Cod Bay", "Subsurface", "CMHRP", "chirp", "Town Neck Beach", "subbottom", "Surface", "marine geophysics", "sea floor", "seismic reflection methods", "oceans", "Atlantic Ocean", "navigation shotpoint", "geoscientificInformation", "marine geology", "Seafloor", "seafloor", "Cape Cod", "seismic reflection"], "modified": "2024-03-19T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-70.494732, 41.761278, -70.456610, 41.786529", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Shotpoint navigation at a 500-shot interval for chirp seismic-reflection data collected in 2016 by the U.S. Geological Survey off Town Neck Beach in Sandwich, Massachusetts, during field activity 2016-017-FA (point shapefile)"}
