Chesapeake Bay resource managers are concerned about nutrients that are entering the estuary via submarine groundwater discharge, which are contributing to eutrophication. The USGS has performed many related studies in recent years to provide managers with information necessary to make informed decisions about this issue. The research carried out as part of the study described here was designed to help refine nutrient budgets for Chesapeake Bay by characterizing submarine groundwater flow and discharge of groundwater beneath part of the mainstem and a major tributary, the Potomac River Estuary.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2009/1151/html/catalog.html", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.4e454166-cfb9-4a24-a3bf-603dc0a7bc76.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_4e454166-cfb9-4a24-a3bf-603dc0a7bc76", "keyword": ["groundwater", "navigation", "inlandWaters", "point shapefile", "United States", "Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center", "location", "continuous resistivity profiling", "geospatial datasets", "North America", "Coastal and Marine Geology Program", "U.S. Geological Survey", "WHCMSC", "Dennis Point Marina", "elevation", "USGS", "CMGP", "USGS:4e454166-cfb9-4a24-a3bf-603dc0a7bc76", "Potomac River Estuary", "Solomons, Maryland", "North Atlantic", "submarine groundwater", "Info Bank ID K-1-06-CH", "processed data", "Maryland", "Virginia", "AGI SuperSting", "oceans", "Field Activity Serial Number 06018", "geoscientificInformation", "Patuxent River", "CRP", "bathymetry", "Lowrance GPS", "Continuous Resistivity Profiling", "Chesapeake Bay", "R/V Kerhin"], "modified": "2024-03-18T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-76.856023, 37.946757, -76.310406, 38.295740", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Processed Continuous Resistivity Profile (CRP) Data Below the Sediment Water Interface From the Potomac River/Chesapeake Bay collected from Sept. 6, 2006 to Sept. 8, 2006 on USGS Cruise 06018 (MRG2006_ALLZYZ.SHP)"}
