As a\r\npart of this project, D3 was tasked with compiling existing information on\r\nhistoric districts in the City of Detroit, so that the city would be able to\r\nidentify all areas and structures of historic significance.\u00a0</p><p>D3 compiled this\r\ndataset from a number of different sources, which ranged from existing\r\nshapefiles on the City of Detroit's website to drawing polygons manually based\r\non descriptions from the Michigan State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). D3\r\nanalysts then subjected the data to an extensive manual cleaning process,\r\nremoving duplicates and reconciling conflicting boundaries. The resulting\r\ndataset contains boundaries for 656 features, including national, state, and\r\nlocally-listed historic districts, as well as proposed/potential and eligible\r\nhistoric districts.\u00a0</p><p>This file is projected in\r\nNAD_1983_HARN_StatePlane_Michigan_South_FIPS_2113_Feet_Intl.
