These measurements provide time series and supplemental data to quantify the response and understand the resilience of this back-barrier estuarine system to storm events. The Assateague Island National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service) and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) are both situated on the east side of Chincoteague Bay, and serve as the barrier between Chincoteague Bay and the Atlantic Ocean as well as providing globally important migratory bird habitat and a popular recreation destination.", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/F7WD3XSF", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.58a56d84-f4a5-4c8e-bb78-88f64a876436.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_58a56d84-f4a5-4c8e-bb78-88f64a876436", "keyword": ["inlandWaters", "Chincoteague Inlet", "Sinepuxent Bay", "Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge", "Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center", "Wallops Island", "loss on ignition (LOI)", "Coastal and Marine Geology Program", "Greenbackville", "U.S. Geological Survey", "WHCMSC", "USGS", "CMGP", "Newport Bay", "water properties", "Chincoteague Island", "water samples", "Assateague Island", "Chincoteague Bay", "environment", "Public Landing", "Maryland", "Virginia", "Tom's Cove", "oceans", "Assateague National Seashore", "geoscientificInformation", "suspended sediment concentration (SSC)", "field activity number 2014-048-FA", "suspended material (water)", "USGS:58a56d84-f4a5-4c8e-bb78-88f64a876436"], "modified": "2024-03-18T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-75.500, 37.800, -75.020, 38.350", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Suspended-sediment concentration (SSC) and loss-on-ignition (LOI) data from water samples collected in 2014-15 by the U.S. Geological Survey in Chincoteague Bay, Maryland and Virginia"}
