Lidar data will serve multiple purposes, but has primarily been collected to (1) evaluate active faulting, slope instability, thaw settlement, erosion, and other engineering constraints along proposed pipeline routes, and (2) provide a base layer for the state-federal GIS database that will be used to evaluate permit applications and construction plans. This dataset is an index for locating point cloud bin files included as part of this publication. Provide an index illustrating the spatial location of bin data. This metadata file has been written to document and describe the LAS index file for this project. The DGGS metadata standard extends the FGDC standard to also include several elements that are required to facilitate our internal data management. These elements relate individual data items to a common dataset. Lidar data and derivative products were checked for quality, completeness, and accuracy by State of Oregon Department of Geology & Mineral Industries based in Portland, OR. Microsoft Windows XP Version 5.1 (Build 2600) Service Pack 3; ESRI ArcGIS 10.0.0.2414 Bin numbering scheme was assigned by Watershed Sciences, Inc. Attribute values have been visually inspected to ensure accuracy. Data was visually inspected in ArcGIS to ensure consistency. Lidar data was checked for accuracy and completeness. Please refer to the lidar QC report and overview report for details about the raster index file. Data was visually inspected to ensure horizontal positional accuracy. A shapefile was created as a LAS index to show organization of point cloud data sets for this publication. The maximum bin size is 750 square meters. 2010, 2011, 2012 LAS index shapefiles from individual deliveries were combined into a single shapefile.
