The cruise took place from August 6 to September 23, 2022 aboard the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown. The bongo net tows were performed at subset of 73 ECOA-3 stations along the East Coast of North America. The cruise was designed to obtain a synoptic snapshot of key carbon, physical, biological and biogeochemical parameters as they relate to ocean acidification (OA) in the coastal realm. The bongo net tows support the biological sampling component of the cruise in an effort to link chemical and physical drivers to biological and ecological effects. This effort was conducted in support of the monitoring and research objectives of the NOAA Ocean Acidification Program (OAP). This dataset is available to the public for a wide variety of uses including scientific research and analysis. The sample from one of these nets, designated as 6B3Z, was analyzed for zooplankton abundance by taxon. The other net, designated as 6B3I, was analyzed for ichthyoplankton abundance by taxon. For zooplankton (6B3Z net), the full sample is split to reach a count of no fewer than 500 individuals. For ichthyoplankton (6B3I net) the full sample is counted.
