Only streamgages in the region that were also in the USGS \"GAGES II\" database (https://water.usgs.gov/GIS/metadata/usgswrd/XML/gagesII_Sept2011.xml) were considered for use in the study.  The file was generated by combining PeakFQ output (.PRT) files created using version 7.0 of USGS software PeakFQ (https://water.usgs.gov/software/PeakFQ/; Veilleux and others, 2014) to conduct flood-frequency analyses using the Expected Moments Algorithm (England and others, 2018).  The peak-flow files used as input to PeakFQ were obtained from the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) database (https://nwis.waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/peak) and contained annual peak flows ending in water year 2011.  Results of the flood-frequency analyses were used to estimate skewness of annual peak flows in the New England region using Bayesian Weighted Least Squares / Bayesian Generalized Least Squares (B-WLS / B-GLS) regression (Veilleux and others, 2019).", "distribution": [{"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "description": "The metadata original format", "downloadURL": "https://data.usgs.gov/datacatalog/metadata/USGS.5d0ba669e4b0e3d3116203d8.xml", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "text/xml", "title": "Original Metadata"}, {"@type": "dcat:Distribution", "accessURL": "https://doi.org/10.5066/P9MC98OM", "description": "Landing page for access to the data", "format": "XML", "mediaType": "application/http", "title": "Digital Data"}], "identifier": "http://datainventory.doi.gov/id/dataset/USGS_5d0ba669e4b0e3d3116203d8", "keyword": ["Maine", "Bulletin 17B", "Mid-Atlantic Region - 2-digit Hydrologic Unit Code - 02", "USGS:5d0ba669e4b0e3d3116203d8", "regional skew", "PeakFQ", "flood frequency", "Vermont", "EMA", "Great Lakes Region - 2-digit Hydrologic Unit Code - 04", "New York", "Massachusetts", "Connecticut", "Expected Moments Algorithm", "Bayesian regression", "New Hampshire", "New England Region - 2-digit Hydrologic Unit Code - 01", "Rhode Island"], "modified": "2020-08-20T00:00:00Z", "publisher": {"@type": "org:Organization", "name": "U.S. Geological Survey"}, "spatial": "-74.602737087, 41.150079569, -66.006818587, 46.873281806", "theme": ["geospatial"], "title": "Annual peak-flow data and PeakFQ output files for selected streamflow gaging stations operated by the U.S. Geological Survey in the New England region that were used to estimate regional skewness of annual peak flows"}
