    Taxi Medallion Holders

    A. SUMMARY This dataset of taxi medallions provides the public with information about the type and status of taxi medallions. A taxi medallion is a permit issued by SFMTA to operate a taxi vehicle in the City of San Francisco.

    B. HOW THE DATASET IS CREATED This data represents the current medallions issued by the city. The data may fluctuate throughout the year, particularly following the annual medallion renewal process.

    C. UPDATE PROCESS Data will be intermittently updated based on when changes occur.

    D. HOW TO USE THIS DATASET This dataset is useful for checking the status of medallions and is good for providing counts of medallions by type, holder, operational status, and financial status.
