The decorative facing material enhances the bond between the facing material and the ski or snowboard and enhances the aesthetic appeal with a three-dimensional effect. The inner face of the facing material in contact with the ski or snowboard is essentially non-structured or smooth. The facing material is e.g. self-adhesive transparent or metal foil.
